Welcome to NutraCheck AI ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when
you use our Android application, including our use of Google AdMob for
advertising services.
We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all users,
including those in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK),
and Switzerland, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. DATA CONTROLLER

As the operator of the NutraCheck AI application, we act as the Data Controller
for personal data collected through the App.

3. DATA WE COLLECT

3.1 Data Collected Automatically
When you use our App, the following categories of data may be collected
automatically:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID / GAID)
- IP address
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- App version and session duration
- Coarse location data (country/region level, for ad targeting)
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
- Interaction data with in-app advertisements
3.2 Data Provided by You
We may collect data you voluntarily provide, including:
- Dietary preferences or food intake information you enter into the App
- Account information, if you register or sign in
- Feedback or support requests you submit
3.3 Data Collected by Google AdMob
Our App uses Google AdMob, a third-party advertising network operated by
Google LLC, to display ads. AdMob may collect and process the following:
- Advertising ID (can be reset by the user on their device)
- Device and network information
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks, conversions)
- Inferred interests and demographic segments

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal

- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
For personalised advertising served by Google AdMob, we will request your
explicit consent via a Consent Management Platform (CMP) before any data
is collected for ad personalisation.
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
For non-personalised advertising, basic analytics, and app security.
We ensure our legitimate interests do not override your fundamental rights.
- Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
Where processing is required to comply with applicable law.
- Performance of a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Where processing is necessary to deliver the core features of the App.
For special categories of data (e.g., health data related to dietary
information), we rely on your explicit consent under Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR.
5. GOOGLE ADMOB & GDPR CONSENT

5.1 User Messaging Platform (UMP)
For users in the EEA and UK, we use the Google User Messaging Platform
(UMP SDK) to present an IAB TCF v2.2-compliant consent dialog before any
personalised advertising data is processed. This dialog allows you to:
- Accept all personalised advertising
- Reject personalised advertising (non-personalised ads will still appear)
- Manage your consent preferences in detail
5.2 If You Decline Consent
If you decline consent for personalised ads, Google AdMob will still show
contextual (non-personalised) advertisements. Non-personalised ads do not
use cookies or mobile ad identifiers for targeting.
5.3 Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw or update your advertising consent at any time through the
privacy settings within the App. You can also reset your device's Advertising
ID via:
Android 11 and below :
Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID
Android 12 and above :
Settings > Google > Ads > Delete Advertising ID
6. HOW WE SHARE YOUR DATA

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with the following:
- Google LLC (AdMob / Firebase / Analytics)
As an advertising and analytics service provider. Google acts as a data
processor for ad serving and as an independent data controller for its
own analytics products.
- Cloud service providers
For hosting and infrastructure purposes.
- Legal authorities
Where required by applicable law, court order, or to protect our legal
rights.
All third-party service providers are bound by data processing agreements
(DPAs) that require appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EEA,
including the United States, where Google's servers are located.
Such transfers are protected by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Google's adherence to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF)

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes
described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by applicable law:
- Advertising identifiers : Up to 12 months (Google AdMob)
- App analytics data : Up to 26 months (Firebase default)
- User nutritional data : Until account deletion or user request
- Crash and diagnostics data : Up to 90 days
9. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The NutraCheck AI application is not directed to children under the age of 13
(or 16 in some EEA member states). We do not knowingly collect personal data
from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us
immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
In compliance with Google Play's Families Policy, our App does not target
children and we do not serve interest-based ads to users under the applicable
age threshold.
11. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your
personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Access controls and authentication requirements
- Regular security assessments of our service providers
- Anonymisation and pseudonymisation where appropriate
However, no transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is
100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. COOKIES & TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Our App does not use browser cookies. However, Google AdMob and related Google
services use mobile advertising identifiers (e.g., GAID on Android) for:
- Delivering and measuring advertisements
- Frequency capping (limiting how often you see the same ad)
- Fraud prevention and abuse detection
- Improving ad relevance (only with your consent)
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by adjusting your
device settings (see Section 5.3 above).
13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy
Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review
the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material
changes, we will:
- Update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document
- Notify you via an in-app notification or a prominent notice in the App
- Where required by law, obtain your renewed consent
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance
of the revised Privacy Policy.
